Where does your team need you most?
Think about a normal week. Which questions come up again and again? Which tasks can only you do? What stops when you are away? These are good places to start.
The goal is to use your time where it helps most. You may need to teach a task, explain a goal, or give someone the power to make a choice. Handing off work goes better when people know what is expected.
Help your team know who does what
People need to know what they own, what they can decide, and when to ask for help. A leadership coach can help you make those roles clear. You can also practice how to give feedback or talk through a hard choice.
You might want help as you hire, lead a growing team, or change a role. Talk with your coach about what they can cover. Bring in an HR expert or lawyer when a question needs that kind of advice.
- Give each person a clear role.
- Explain which choices they can make on their own.
- Use team check-ins to agree on next steps.
- Fix the issues that keep slowing work down.
Build simple business systems
A system is a clear way to do a task. It might be a short checklist for a new client or a guide for closing the shop. Start with work that repeats or causes trouble when someone is away.
Write down the key steps. Ask a team member to try them, then fix what is unclear. Keep the guide short enough to use. Your coach can help you choose where to start and make time to follow through.
Make room for your next step
When your team can do more on its own, you have more time to lead. You can focus on growth, take a break, or plan for a new role. Strong systems can also help if you choose to sell one day.
