Goals & follow-through
How to Turn Business Goals Into Weekly Action
Turn a broad goal into one clear result, a few small tasks, and a regular review. A coach helps you choose what matters first, set a starting point, and follow through when daily work gets in the way.

A long wish list is hard to act on
You may want more sales, a stronger team, better systems, and more time off. Those are useful aims. Trying to fix them all at once can leave you with a long list and no clear next step.
Start with the change that would make the biggest useful difference right now. If your team cannot handle current work, adding sales may make the week harder. The order matters.
First, assess where you are now
Everything starts with an assessment. We look at what is working, where you feel stuck, and what you want from the business. That creates a clear starting point for your coaching plan.
Say a Hillsboro business owner wants to spend less time on daily tasks. Before choosing a target, the owner tracks a normal week. The coach can then help them pick which work to share and what a useful first result would look like.
Make the next step small and clear
Choose a goal you can explain in one sentence. Then decide what you can do this week. Set aside the time on your calendar instead of waiting for a quiet day.
- Goal: What do you want to change?
- Starting point: What happens today?
- First task: What will you do this week?
- Owner: Who will do it?
- Review: When will you check what changed?
What does an accountability coach do?
A coach gives you a set time to review the plan, discuss what got in the way, and choose your next step. The aim is useful support, not guilt about an unfinished list.
If you miss a task, look at why. Was it too large? Did you need help? Did urgent work take the time you set aside? Your coach can help you adjust the plan so it fits the business you actually run.
Keep a short record of what you tried and what happened. Progress may mean a better result, a clearer role, or learning that an idea needs to change. Regular reviews help you turn that learning into the next action.
Common questions
What if I do not know my main goal yet?
That is a good reason to start with an assessment. You and your coach can review the business and choose which problem to work on first.
How long will it take to see progress?
That depends on the goal, the changes needed, and the time you can put in. Agree on a review date and signs of progress with your coach before you begin.
